According to Task B.4.1, one of the specific objectives of LIFE iCirBus-4Industries project is to valorize biomass fly ash as pollutants adsorbent from sewage sludge; concretely, focuses on the removal capacity of micro organic contaminants, as identified in the Sewage Sludge Directive 86/278/CEE.

First trials have been carried out in the adapted system for adsorption process based in cheese pilot line already exiting in CTAEX, with fly ash contained in two rotating blades sunken into 80 kg sewage sludge. Laboratory optimal conditions were scale up to this trial: ratio 1/65 ash/sludge and 3 hours agitating.

This is organized by the Department of Architectural Constructions and the High Technique School of Architecture from Seville University.
