Physical and chemical characterization of acconditioned and treated biomass fly ash, a by-product resulting from the prototype designed during the progress of Action B.5, has allowed to obtain artificial lightweight aggregates to be used in concrete manufacturing in agreement of European and Spanish regulations.

Reference formulations from Construcciones Manzano plant, for the manufacture of precast concrete panels, were taken into account in order to study the proper dosage of artificial lightweight aggregate, for achieving a certain degree of substitution that will not give rise lower compressive strength values compared to those the reference ones.

The advances of the investigations carried out by INTROMAC in the framework of Action B.8 have allowed obtaining concrete with lower consumption of non-renewable raw materials and raw materials from waste, with technical feasibility of being able to use it in the manufacture of prefabricated cement-based products.
