The fertilizing effectiveness of compost manufactured with fly-ash-treated sewage sludge was assessed in maize crop in 2019 season at CTAEX experimental farm. 


<p>The trial consisted of representative 200 m2 plots with five different fertilizing treatments, with a randomized squared design with four replications per treatment:</p> <p><br /> &bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Treated sewage sludge addition (HM reduced) only as basal dressing.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Treated sewage sludge addition (HM reduced) in basal and top dressing.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Control with conventional fertilizer, applying standard FU.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Fertilization with the compost as basal dressing covering 100% of NPL needs<br /> &bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Fertilization with the compost as basal dressing covering 50% of NPL needs, complemented with conventional fertilizer</p> <p><br /> The crop was managed in the usual way, with continuous monitoring.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: right;"><img alt="" src="https://www.ctaex.com/icirbus/ficheros/imagenes/2020_06/19-10-validacion-agricola-maiz-2019-ag-19.jpg" style="width: 650px; height: 488px; float: right;" /></p>
