Aqualia presents the progress of the LIFE iCirBus project

The "II Technical Conference on Technological Applications for the Management, Treatment and Valorisation of Sludges" organized by Enviro Networking and the journal FuturENVIRO took place at the Colegio de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos de Madrid with more than 10 oral presentations on the management of sewage sludge, characterization and control.


<div style="text-align: justify;"> V&iacute;ctor Monsalvo, Head of the Eco-Efficiency Area of the R&amp;D Department of Aqualia has presented &quot;From sludge to biofuel and other routes of circular resource in wastewater treatment&quot;. The presentation included several research projects carried out by Aqualia concerning efficient sewage sludge management and its reuse as biofuel or biofertilizers &nbsp;(LIFE Memory, LIFE iCirBus-4Industries, LIFE Memory, LIFE Answer, SMART Green Gas and All-gas).</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> &nbsp;</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> In his presentation, Monsalvo highlighted the importance of implementing the 5 R of circular economy (reduce, reuse, recycle, recover and redesign) and how Aqualia implements solutions to achieve this goal, as well as the firm willingness of the company to provide, through innovation, an increasingly efficient and sustainable service.</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> &nbsp;</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> In this second edition of the Conference, professionals in the sector of the integral water cycle management, experts technologists, plant managers and operators and heads of engineering departments, among others, discussed about sewage sludges, the second urban waste in volume and importance and which are generated 7.5 million tonnes per year in Spain.</div> <div> &nbsp;</div>
